Instructional Support
Struggling Students

- Differentiating instruction and scaffolding support with appropriate media and materials are critical in affording learners maximized access to and involvement with the curricula.
- Instructional planning guided by Grade-level Expectations (GLEs) and executed with appropriate strategies, accommodations and/or modifications, technology tools, and product options afford learners increased opportunities for success.
Getting Help
- The SEARCH tab (on the home page) will allow queries for suggested strategies, accommodations, and technology aligned to the activities found in the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum.
- The Significant Disabilities menu button provides modifications and other resources for students with significant disabilities.
- An Instructional Decision-Making Cycle provides a graphic illustration of the process a team can use in problem solving for learning challenges (see Resources tab).
- A range of assistive technology strategies can greatly enhance the learner’s participation in the classroom. The Louisiana Assistive Technology Initiative (LATI)
operates eight technology centers throughout the state which provide both on-site and long-distance support to schools. A general listing of these strategies from low to high tech can be found on pages 36 and 37 of
