Adam's Model of Learning (Dr. Gretchen Hanser, June 2012)

 

This June 2012 webinar was developed by Dr. Gretchen Hanser for the Louisiana Department of Education.  In this approximately 11 minute webinar, Dr. Hanser provides an overview of Adam’s model of word reading, a model which applies to students who are learning to read words conventionally (and not for those students who are at the emergent literacy level).  The webinar content really underscores the need to provide instruction within meaningful contexts.

Alternate Pencil – Why Bother? (an introduction, first in a 3-part webinar series, recorded in November 2010)

The Literacy Assessments (Part 1):  Significant Disabilities webinar, recorded on August 15, 2011, provides an overview of the literacy assessment requirements for school year 2011-2012 related to students with significant disabilities in Louisiana public schools.  The Part 1 webinar provides a review of three assessment tools and their use with this population of students:  DIBELS Next, the BRIDGE, and the Literacy Rubric.  Also included in the webinar is information about resources available for school personnel to use in supporting implementation efforts.
